Spiritual Life

All truth is God’s truth- that thought undergirds everything that we do and teach at TCS.  The Bible and what it teaches about God, man, and the world must be the starting place for every subject if we are going to properly instruct students.  To this end, not only are Bible classes taught in each grade, but each subject is taught within the context of a Christian worldview. There is also a chapel held each Wednesday.

  • Chapel

All students attend chapel each week; there are three age groups (K-3rd grades; 4th-6th grades; 7-12th grades) so all students hear a message at their level.  Last year, speakers took the students through various themes in the book of Proverbs; this year, each chapel meditation is focused on a parable of Jesus. Chapel speakers are generally pastors from local churches that are represented in our school.

  • Elementary

Over the course of elementary school, students cover basic doctrine about God (in Kindergarten), an overview of the Old and New Testaments (from 1st through 5th grades), and then learn basic Bible doctrine through a study of the Shorter Catechism (6th grade).  All elementary literature units are also designed to help students focus their minds on learning and building good character traits.

  • Secondary

Beginning in 7th grade, students embark on a more in-depth study of Scripture and its application to various aspects of life.  After Old and New Testament survey classes in 7th and 8th grades, students study Church History in 9th grade, they then proceed to study Ethics (10th), and Bible Doctrine (11th) before spending their senior year studying various Worldviews.  The classes are designed to give students a solid foundation and understanding of a true Biblical worldview before sending them out into the world.
