Who We Are

Trinity Christian School of Montville, New Jersey, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, board-governed, private Christian day school. The school does not discriminate against anyone on the basis of race, color, and national or ethnic origin. It is a non-parochial school that remains accountable to parents by endeavoring to provide a satisfactory service within the confines of its own commitment to Christian education. TCS utilizes the facilities of Trinity Baptist Church of Montville, although the school is a separate entity from the Trinity Baptist Church of Montville.

TCS is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and is a member of the Association of Classical Christian Schools (ACCS), the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), the Middle Atlantic Christian School Association (MACSA), the Northern New Jersey Christian School Association (NNJCSA), and the Metro Christian Athletic Association (MCAA).

Greetings from Jerry Nunes, Head of School

Welcome to Trinity Christian School! As the incoming Head of School, I am excited to be joining an institution whose vision over the last 38 years has been to prepare students, under the blessing of God, to know Christ, and to live purposefully and intelligently in the service of God and man. One of the greatest joys of each day is the ability to interact with our students and build relationships with them. God has given us a great stewardship here at Trinity Christian School by giving us each and every one of these students, and we praise Him for the opportunity to play a significant and influential role in their lives. As a staff, we also have the joy of beginning each day by focusing our minds towards the Lord and seeking His grace to help us in all our endeavors. My desire is that we see the Lord bless our efforts here at Trinity Christian School as we seek to fulfill our mission to partner with Christian parents in providing their children a Biblically based, academically excellent, and classical education.

Statement of Faith

The purpose of Trinity Christian School is defined by the following declaration of principles:

    The Bible, the inerrant and infallible Word of God, is the supreme norm for all of Christian faith and life and therefore for the educational enterprise of this Christian school corporation. While the ultimate authority in all matters of faith, order and morals is and must be the Bible alone, our understanding of these Holy Scriptures finds its fullest expression in the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith.

    In their education, children must come to learn that the world, and man's calling in it, can rightly be understood only in relation to the Triune God who by His creation, restoration, and governance directs all things to the coming of His kingdom and glorification of His name.

    Man's sin, which brought upon mankind the curse of God, alienates him from his Creator, his neighbor, and the world; distorts his view of the true meaning and purpose of life; misdirects human culture; and therefore also corrupts the education of children.

    Our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, is the Redeemer of, and the Light and the Way for, our human life in all its range and variety. Only through His life and work, and the work of His Spirit, are we guided in the truth and by faith recommitted to our purpose as those made in the image of God. Therefore, the Gospel is God's power to renew our educational enterprise.

    The primary responsibility for education rests upon parents to whom children are entrusted by God. They are commanded to bring up their children in the training and admonition of the Lord. Therefore, anyone whom the parents appoint to substitute in a teaching capacity must satisfy the same biblical requirements expected of the parents.

    Since God's promises and their respective conditions embrace the whole Christian community and because Christian education contributes to the advancement of God's kingdom, it is essential that parents and the Christian community establish and maintain Christian schools by praying for, working for, and giving generously to their support.

    The purpose of Christian schools is to educate children for a life of obedience to their calling in the world as image-bearers of God. This calling is to understand God's revelation in His Word and His creation; to respond to His Word in faith and repentance; to consecrate the whole of human life to God; to love their fellow man; and to be stewards of their God-given evangelical and cultural tasks.

    Christian schools must take into account the variety of abilities, needs and responsibilities of young persons; the endowment and calling of young persons as God's image-bearers; and the young persons' defects and inadequacies as sinners. This requires that such learning goals and curricula be selected as will best prepare them to live, by the grace of God, as obedient Christians.

    Christian schools, organized and administered in accordance with legitimate standards and provisions for day schools, should be recognized in society as free to function according to their principles.
