Spiritual Life

All truth is God’s truth- that thought undergirds everything that we do and teach at TCS.  The Bible and what it teaches about God, man, and the world must be the starting place for every subject if we are going to properly instruct students.  To this end, not only are Bible classes taught in each grade, but each subject is taught within the context of a Christian worldview. There is also a chapel held each Wednesday.

  • Chapel

Each week, every student attends a chapel service appropriate for their age group (K-3rd grades, 4th-6th grades, and 7-12th grades). Last year, speakers took the students through various Key Figures in the Old Testament. The focus of chapel this year is on Key Figures in the New Testament and Events in the Life of Christ.  Chapel speakers are generally pastors from local churches represented in our school.

In elementary school, students will learn basic doctrines about God (in kindergarten), an overview of the Old and New Testaments (from 1st through 5th grades), and then basic Bible doctrine through a study of the Shorter Catechism (6th grade).  All elementary literature units are also designed to help students focus their minds on learning and building virtuous character.

  • Secondary

Beginning in 7th grade, students embark on a more in-depth study of Scripture and its application to various aspects of life.  After Old and New Testament survey classes in 7th and 8th grades, students study Church History in 9th grade, they then proceed to study Ethics in 10th grade, and Bible Doctrine in 11th grade. In their senior year, students will study and analyze various Worldviews from a Biblical standpoint.  Our Bible courses are designed to provide students with a solid foundation and understanding of a true Biblical worldview before sending them out into the world.
